I think the public has the right to know everything the government is doing, I believe that there couldn't be an effective democracy without complete transparency; equality and freedom have been identified as important characteristics of democracy since the beginning of it .These principles are reflected in all citizens being equal before the law and having equal access to power. Furthermore, freedom of political expression, freedom of speech and freedom of press are essential so that citizens are informed and able to vote in their personal interests.Although the abuse of power and often change in laws make of this a hard accomplish. The decisions the government make not only affect them, but everyone in society, not to mention the collateral damage to the world (environmentally) and people from other countries who are affected indirectly. The recent movies "Food Inc.", and "The Inconvenient Truth" are clear examples of what is become because the lack of peoples awareness and participation in the say of major and/or minor decisions.I believe the public has the right to know everything the government is doing and be able to discuss freely,because at the end the government is only the representatives of the people, they have no higher or divine power, is not a totalitarianism, is a democracy, and is the people the real power, they are the the ones who decide either to give it or take it away.
If I were a journalist and I received leaked information about the government that i believe the public would want to know, but I was pressured by the government not to release it, i would firstable see the significant prominence of the given information. Depending on that, there would be a number of ways to make it public. If its of minimum influence but still important for people to be aware I would send it to a reliable source either, the newspaper or any other media to release it, keeping my identity intact.Otherwise if the prominence was of a big deal and it would uncover a dark secret from the goverment i would probably first get a lawyer to protect my self and see in what way it would be better to release the information wiouth or affectthing me the least.
If i were to have information that i felt the public would want to know and i have to choce between Wikileaks or Openleaks to release the information, my choice would be based on the kind of information i posses. It is known that Openleaks was started by former employees of Wikileaks who felt it had certain political agendas under the direction of editor in chief Julian Assange. They want to be neutral and instead of publishing the information, Openleaks will send the leaked documents to various news entities. This could be seen as either a good or bad advantage for either one of them.
If the information i held was of major importance regarding one group of people specifically or a aperson i would send the information to Wikileaks. Because of their current popularity and goverment agenda i believe they will take the news to the next level not only by releasing it but making sure something is done about it.Otherwise if the information regards about he goverment overall i would probably send it to openleaks who wil send it to different enitties making sure the news is well spread.

Talent people never dies, they live among us in their influence.
Barbara Frum maintains her "cool"and continue with the interview asking the questions she felt were important by being patient and not interrupting at the begging, asking over and over again the question she wanted Good to answer in different ways. She tried to don't get frustrated and stay confident on herself not giving personal opinions that may lead to an argument and/or frustration for part of the interviewed.
I believed that the outcome of the interview would have been really bad by her hanging up sooner if Frum
would have become more aggressive and confrontational. Frum was actually prepare for the hanging up, she even say it, i believe that is why she always tried to get her answers as fast as she could interrupting her constantly since she couldn't find any other way to stop Good going around the questions and her stubborn answers " You are so ignorant".
I think that a question she asked that i feel was effective was "how come you are talking about trees that you care about and yet you don't care about killing men" because it question her mental sanity that perhaps was associated with Fromm's who at the end was the main point of the interview.This give us an angle or point of view of the reason why she tried to assassinate the president. Alt ought i also believe that the question "What do you think about Charles Manson" was effective because before she asked her Good was getting frustrated treatening to hang up if she didn't get another interviewerr. A lie may take care of the present, but it has no future.
It is possible that not everybody has ever heard of the Russian Proverb; "With lies you may go ahead with the world, but you can never go back". As well at it is possible that you would have never consider that some news you read or heard are fabricated.
These quote can be extremely related with journalists that have been caught in lies, specially the article "jimmy's world" by Janet Cooke which won a Pulitzer Prize before it was caught by being a lie.
I have never considered before that the news i read may be factually incorrect or even fabricated. I believed that for the simple fact that is unethical people could have never dear to lie to the public who truly believe and rely on them .Not to even mention that if the story is not real there would be many people who watch the article who would inquire investigations putting at risk the journalist current job and future ones, making article fabrication an unreal choice.Furthermore i always believed that the newspaper or TV news have trusted sources and always go trough editing.
I was shocked to know that professional journalist were fabricating news.Journalist Jack Shafer writes “most liars make things up for the simple reason that they don't have the talent or the ability to get the story any other way.” Altought i do not agree with this statement. I believe that there are many factor that could interfere with the journalist to push him to make up story; one of them is pressure.However i also think that if you have talent and are good at what you do regardless the job you have, the
outcome will be good, even with extreme time lines.
I believe university are doing a great job regarding graduation of journalism students. I think that they do a remarkable job teaching, if the student is talent or not or cant take pressure or handle responsibility would be the decision and responsibility of whoever hires him in the future.
I think that people cant tell you what you are able to do or no.Excellence is not an act but a habit, who knows but people who doesn't do well under the university environment might be better out in the real world than the other people.
I think that when issues of ethics arise in a newspaper ombudsman definitely helps . However it is know and show even with protest or wars that sometimes there are certain topics that can be discuss for a long period of time without etiher side coming to an agreement. The ombudsman should always be there to help look at things from different points of view and to answer your doubts.

Hurricane Igor devastates Newfoundland
Hurricane Igor pelted Canada's Atlantic coast province of Newfoundland with heavy rain Tuesday, flooding communities, washing out roads and stranding some residents in their homes
On Sept. 21 the hurricane dropped as much as 238 millimetres of rain in a day and had winds peaking at 172 km/h.
The Canadian Forces were called to action on Friday, to provide emergency aid to thousands of people who need food, medicine, water, fuel and other supplies
Normally the cool weather from the Atlantic weaken the hurricanes altought because of the extreme climate change and warming water the hurricane gain power enough to damage Newfoundland.
"We have never experienced anything like this before. The important thing is not to panic and start helping out our neighbors and vice versa.It is going to take a long time to get on track but we will make it trough " Milena said who is from one of the most damage areas.
